Contract Art Therapists
For the professional art therapist, the Art Therapy House, Inc. (ATH) offers the opportunity for contractual partnership intended to expand the services provided to other communities. Art Therapists in good standing are invited to apply. An approved ATH art therapist is able to partner with host organizations, build community based groups, and seeks local funding for service provision. ATH art therapists are also invited to attend monthly peer supervision groups to maintain service excellence.
Supervisory Services
For the art therapist in training to become a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) or a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC- the Art Therapy House, Inc., (ATH) provides professional supervision that meets the national and state requirements. The professionals at ATH can provide assistance with paperwork for applications, provide adequate supervision, and attest to completion of hours required. Supervision can be provided weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly in one to four hour sessions.
Training and Internship Opportunites
For the art therapist in training - either graduate student or new professional - the Art Therapy House, Inc., (ATH) provides internship and externship opportunities. Interns and externs work closely with registered and licensed art therapist to build skills and expertise. Elements of supervision and professional practice learned through experience at the ATH include: ethical practice, media experience, diversity, charting and acclimation to the DSM-V, scope of practice, preventive and wellness care, and elements of counter-transference. The ATH encourages the development of personal art therapist identities.
