Grace’s approach to art therapy is focused on narratives, senses, and play. Grace believes that art can be a freeing process for us to connect to our bodies, emotions, and identities. Grace shares, “Using senses and play, we can connect to the inner parts of ourselves that may get forgotten or hurt. As an art therapist, I have a strength in supporting others in their art processes, exploration, and emotional release.” At Art Therapy House Inc., Grace is able to offer their strengths including their queer and nonbinary identity, their experience from working with others, and their playfulness within the art making process.
As an artist, Grace enjoys playing with a lot of different materials. Grace shares, “I love painting and creating small sculptures related to my identity.” Grace enjoys utilizing crochet, knit, and other fiber arts. In their free time, Grace enjoys building with LEGO, playing video games, taking care of their plants and spending time with their four cats and their partner, who is also an artist.
