Karina is an art therapist who joined Art Therapy House Inc. in the Spring of 2023. Karina helps provide accessible art therapy services to the community by co-facilitating several of our open studio groups. Additionally, Karina serves as an art therapist at a community-based residential facility in Wauwatosa, specializing in assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care.
Her professional journey extends to four years of dedicated work with children in an educational setting, utilizing art therapy techniques to support their development. Alongside her clinical work, Karina boasts over 15 years of experience in designing and creating large-scale puppets for theatrical performances, parades, and various other events.
Karina earned a BFA in sculpture from Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design in 2005, followed by an MS in art therapy from Mount Mary University in 2012. Currently residing on the east side of Milwaukee, she shares her home with her beloved cat, Soupy. Outside of her professional pursuits, Karina enjoys spending quality time with friends, embarking on hikes, and curating her collection of cherished items.
