Shannon Broeker is a licensed art therapist and counselor in training at Art Therapy House Inc. A lifelong passion for art as a source of therapeutic support has been a driving force in her journey. From an early age, she discovered the healing potential of art, and she firmly believes in its ability to positively impact lives. In her practice, Shannon ensures that everyone, regardless of their self-perceived artistic abilities, is welcome to engage in art therapy and reap its therapeutic benefits.
Shannon Broeker earned her Bachelor's degree in Art Therapy with a minor in Psychology at Mount Mary University in 2020 and has recently completed her Master's degree in Art Therapy in May 2023 from Mount Mary University. Shannon has experience working in a variety of settings such as residential facilities for older adults and community-based arts for people with disabilities. Shannon's approach to art therapy is inclusive and client-centered. She recognizes that art can serve as a powerful tool for clients to explore and understand their emotions and experiences, especially when these aspects are challenging to express through traditional talk therapy alone. Committed to fostering a sense of community and support, Shannon aims to show individuals that they are not alone in their struggles and that they don't have to face challenges in isolation. She views art therapy as a pathway to creative expression and a direct connection to one's inner self, creating a space for nonjudgmental exploration, play, and creativity.
