What is Youth Group?
​Join us in this nurturing space where creativity and healing collide. We understand that the teenage years can be tough. Social pressures. Changing bodies. Increased demands at school and responsibilities at home. Every teen deserves support through this stage of life, and that's why we're here to offer support and solace through the power of art therapy.

Who: Teens 13 years or older
When: Every Tuesday from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Led by experienced and licensed art therapists, our youth group provides an incredible blend of therapeutic interventions and artistic expression.  Through painting, drawing, sculpture, and more, you'll have the chance to express yourself and overcome personal challenges.

No artistic experience required!  Whether you're a seasoned artist or just getting started, our youth group welcomes everyone. It's all about embracing the transformative journey of self-discovery, personal growth, and resilience.

In This Group You Will:

  • ​Connect with Others: At ATH's Youth Art Therapy Group, you'll have the opportunity to connect with peers who share similar experiences and challenges. Through creative expression, you'll build meaningful connections, fostering a sense of belonging and support. Sharing your art and stories in a safe and understanding environment can be a powerful way to forge friendships and combat feelings of isolation.

  • Learn Self-Compassion: Art therapy provides a unique platform to explore and nurture self-compassion. Through artistic expression, you'll learn to treat yourself with kindness and understanding. As you create and reflect on your artwork, you'll gain insight into your own emotions and experiences, cultivating a deeper sense of self-acceptance and self-love.

  • Increase Confidence: Participating in art therapy can be a transformative experience for your self-esteem and confidence. As you engage in creative activities, you'll discover hidden talents and abilities. Success in your artistic endeavors can boost your confidence not only in art but also in other areas of your life, empowering you to face challenges with greater self-assuredness.

  • Enhance Strengths: Art therapy is a strengths-based approach that focuses on your innate abilities and resilience. Through guided activities, you'll identify and build upon your existing strengths. Discover new ways to harness your talents and qualities to navigate life's ups and downs with resilience and determination.

  • Develop Coping Skills: In ATH's Youth Art Therapy Group, you'll learn practical and creative coping strategies to manage stress, anxiety, and other emotional challenges. Art becomes a tool for self-expression and emotional regulation. You'll acquire valuable skills for understanding and processing your emotions, which can be applied to various aspects of your life.
